Active Host API

The EPT USB/CPLD Development System consists of an Altera EPM570 CPLD and a FT2232H High Speed USB two channel plug in module. This hardware is complemented by the EPT Active Host API on the PC and Active Transfer Library on the CPLD.

 

This combination allows users to create powerful, interactive data transfer mechanisms for the Arduino. The components of the system include Triggers In/Out, Transfer (Single Byte) In/Out, and Block (Multiple Bytes) In/Out. The system is scalable, so only the components needed get synthesized.

SPI Communications

The EPT 220X-DB boards use the FT220X USB to SPI Slave chip. These boards are designed to connect to the Arduino. Use the Active Host API to create a simulated SPI sensor. You can simulate Temperature, Proximity, or any other sensor. Follow the quick start guide to create interactive Windows applications using C#. Or create your own communication protocol between the Arduino and the PC.

I2C Communcations

The EPT 201X-DB boards use the FT201X USB to I2C Slave chip. These boards are designed to connect to the Arduino. Use HyperSerialPort to communicate between PC and your Arduino over I2C. Use the Active Host API to create a simulated I2C sensor. You can simulate Temperature, Proximity, or any other sensor. Follow the quick start guide to create interactive Windows applications using C#. Or create your own communication protocol between the Arduino and the PC.
